Vendors of IT Asset Management Technologies Visit NCCoE

On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, representatives of seven companies with technologies for IT asset management visited NIST’s National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence. The meeting was the first step in forming a collaborative team to address the need for financial services organizations to protect their IT systems and data from cyber attacks. (See the use case document.) The vendors, who responded to the NCCoE’s call for participation published in the Federal Register on May 6, 2014, discussed their capabilities and learned about the NIST cooperative research and development agreement (CRADA; see an example) to which each participating company will agree. Once the CRADAs are signed, the vendors will begin working with an NCCoE project manager on their example solution.
