Cybersecurity Risks in Consumer Home IoT Products
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will hold a virtual workshop on October 22, 2020, from 12-4:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The purpose of this workshop is to obtain feedback on topics related to future directions for NIST and NCCoE’s work in this important space. The workshop will feature an overview of NIST’s Cybersecurity for Internet of Things (IoT) Program and guest speakers highlighting the many considerations impacting the cybersecurity of IoT products. The introductory session will be followed with panels discussing addressing cybersecurity challenges in home IoT products and a panel discussing barriers to implement the core baseline NISTIR 8259A IoT Device Cybersecurity Capability Core Baseline in consumer IoT products.
